(FinancialHealth.net) – The COVID-19 pandemic is devastating people’s personal finances. Millions of Americans are out of work and struggling to get by. Did you know you can negotiate your bills?
If your household utilities are late (water, electric and even cable) many companies offer their customers extensions. All you have to do is call and ask if they offer any plans to help out. Just be sure you pay your balance within the timeframe the business offers.
Some credit card and loan companies might be offering similar plans. Call the businesses and see what they can do for you, being sure to explain you’re experiencing a hardship due to COVID-19. Many banks are offering mortgage relief during the crisis. For instance, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) recently let qualified residents know they can submit applications to receive aid.
Applications are now being accepted for CARES rent and mortgage relief for those who lost income due to the economic slowdown are now available. To download applications and other documents:

We’re living in incredibly stressful times. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help. If you are on Social Security or Disability, let them know. Many companies recognize their customers are going through difficulties and want to help. It’s up to you to find the aid, though.
