(FinancialHealth.net) – In April, Americans started receiving the Economic Impact Payments promised to them in the CARES Act. An estimated 35 million people are still waiting for their checks. So, what are they supposed to do?
If you’re one of the millions of people who still haven’t received their payments, there is something you can do. First of all, you need to make sure that you actually qualified for a check. If so, make sure you check the “Get My Payment” tool on the IRS website and see if it was sent out already or what the status is. Check your junk mail, too, and look for an envelope marked “Money Network Cardholder Services.”
#IRS Reminder: Check your mail. Millions of people are getting Economic Impact Payments by prepaid debit card mailed in plain envelopes from Money Network Cardholder Services. Learn more at https://t.co/5xWz2NMxER #COVIDreliefIRS pic.twitter.com/8THoVZz9u3

You can call the IRS about your check if you believe it should have arrived already. The phone number is 800-919-9835. Also, the IRS help number is 800-829-1040. If you believe your impact payment was stolen from your mailbox, report it to the Federal Trade Commission here.
Sometimes massive government programs like this can take a little while to iron out the kinks. Don’t worry though, you will eventually get your payment — hopefully sooner rather than later.
