Unexpected Risks of Mail-In Voting

(FinancialHealth.net) – Democrats across the country have been trying to expand mail-in voting since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Republicans believe it would compromise the election. A new report has found fraud would only be one of the problems.

The Honest Elections Project found a number of issues with a mail-in voting expansion. According to the organization, mailing ballots to all registered voters “is a significant waste of scarce resources.” When this was done in Nevada, ballots piled up and taxpayers’ money was thrown in the trash.

Furthermore, the report states we “should be wary” of the proposed changes to voting laws this close to the election. The project’s director, Jason Snead, said switching up the way we vote for all of the US “in four months is a recipe for disaster.”

It’s hard to argue with that. Do we really want to change the way we vote before one of the most consequential elections of our lifetime? Not to mention how irresponsible it would be to waste money after a pandemic has ravaged the economy. None of that sounds like a great idea.
