(FinancialHealth) – While the water crisis in Flint, Michigan was a huge story when it broke in 2014 – one element of the story has been hanging in the balance. Who would answer for the decision to start drawing water from the Flint River in order to save money?
On Thursday, January 14th, prosecutors announced they’re pressing charges against nine individuals. One such is the former state governor, Rick Snyder (R). Snyder is being charged with willful neglect of duty and could face up to a year in prison.
Residents of Flint have experienced 12 deaths, 80 illnesses, and ongoing issues with water quality and corrosion to the water system.
