(FinancialHealth.net) – For decades, Americans have lost jobs as the companies they worked for moved overseas. This outsourcing hasn’t just resulted in job loss, though. The COVID-19 pandemic is exposing a bigger problem, and now US companies are feeling the pressure to come back home.
The United States is heavily reliant on China for its medical supplies. In March, the Congressional Research Service found America imports 35% of its antibiotics and 30% of its personal protective equipment (PPE) from the communist country. This reliance on the Chinese people for our own safety is an issue that companies can solve by bringing their business back to the States.
President Donald Trump has been trying to get companies back to the US during his time in office. With millions of people out of work, it’s even more important now. During a Fox News interview, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) discussed the problem, saying our technological advances are great, but we “still have to be able to make things.” He went on to call the country’s current position “very dangerous.”
Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) agrees.
We need to end our dependency on China. It’s time to bring drug and supply manufacturing and JOBS back to the US. 🇺🇸https://t.co/4duK8pYMed

Companies have to bring jobs back home. Not only will it create jobs that Americans will need when the pandemic is over, but it’ll ensure we can care for our own. The United States should never be this dependent on a foreign government ever again.
