America’s private sector is an amazing arena to give women opportunities to prove themselves as successful entrepreneurs and to work to fight for women’s rights, but there comes a time when some organizations need an extra financial push. We’ve put together a list of five attractive financial grants which aim to support women as business leaders in the private sector:
Cartier Women’s Initiative Grant
The first and undoubtedly one of the most attractive grants is the Cartier Women’s Initiative Grant which could offer those awarded either 30,000 dollars or 100,000 dollars. This specific grant targets businesses owned by women all over the world, not just in the United States. Before applying, be sure to check the detailed list of eligibility requirements, one of which is that the CEO of the company has to be a woman.
Chicago Foundation for Women Grants (CFW)
Awarding between 15,000 to 150,000 dollars, the CFW grant aims to offer funding opportunities to organizations that promote the economic prosperity of women in Chicago and work specifically in DuPage, Cook, Lake, McHenry, Will or Kane counties. The organizations that are eligible to apply are required to follow the principles that the CFW upholds, which is most importantly supporting women’s rights and protecting women from any violation of their civil liberties.
Eileen Fisher Grant
The Eileen Fisher Grant makes it possible for non-profit organizations to score between 10,000 and 40,000 dollars, if the organization has women who are in organizational leadership positions or opens the door for women to take on leadership roles doing environmental work. Since the grant typically offers a total up to 200,000 dollars a year in funding to these initiatives, a couple of organizations could be the lucky winner. The application period is typically in April so mark your calendars.
The Amber Grant
As an initiative taken up by WomensNet, the Amber Grant can award a business owned by a woman 10,000 dollars on a monthly basis. For a grant application to be considered, the business must be a US or Canada-based for-profit organization and the owner must identify as a female who is 18 years or older.
Girlboss Foundation Grant
For women-led businesses in the arts, music, fashion and design sector, the Girlboss Foundation Grant offers up to 15,000 dollars. To qualify, the owner must identify as a female, must be 18 years or older, and must be a legal resident of the United States. It is a requirement that the funding is used to finance a year-long project. Those whose applications demonstrate the excellence in creativity and innovation will have a good chance of receiving the grant money.
